Ahead of Celta Vigo's final La Liga fixture against Sevilla, manager Claudio Giraldez has addressed the ongoing speculation regarding the futures of two key players whose contracts expire on June 30. The manager stressed the need for clarity regarding Oscar Mingueza.
"Regarding Mingueza, he hasn't said goodbye, not at all. I have more doubts about what might happen now. I can't even give my opinion on whether I am optimistic or not. We will see what happens. I know they have been talking all year and I think the summer will be like this. The sooner this soap opera ends, the better for him and for everyone," Giraldez stated.
Meanwhile, the coach remains more composed regarding the situation of Marcos Alonso. He emphasized that the club is respecting the player's timeframe for making a decision, adding that he remains optimistic about reaching an agreement with the experienced defender.
Celta currently heads into the final matchday with hopes of securing a spot in the Europa League. Beyond the personnel discussions, Giraldez confirmed that Manu Fernandez will miss the match against the Andalusians due to injury.
