Christian Eriksen is in good spirits following his collapse against Ukraine, according to Denmark team doctor Morten Boesen. The midfielder is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the near future.
The match in Odense was halted in the 65th minute after the 34-year-old collapsed and was later abandoned. Eriksen was able to walk off the pitch after regaining consciousness.
I spoke with Christian this morning, and he is doing well. He is with his family and in good spirits. Morten Boesen
Boesen added that the expectation is for Eriksen to be discharged soon so he can return home. Following a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, Eriksen was fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD). Boesen confirmed on Sunday that the device responded as it should during the incident.
