Brighton have officially secured the signing of 23-year-old left-back Jaouen Hadjam. The South Coast club completed the deal with Swiss side Young Boys for a fee in the region of £9.5m, with the defender signing a five-year contract.
Hadjam moved to Switzerland in January 2024 and accumulated 98 competitive appearances for his former club. Across 73 Swiss Super League fixtures, he proved to be a significant attacking threat, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.

Brighton technical director Mike Cave expressed his confidence in the newcomer, noting his versatility and tactical fit. Hadjam will now compete for a starting spot on the left flank against Maxim De Cuyper and Ferdi Kadioglu.
Internationally, Hadjam represented France at youth levels before committing to Algeria, earning 21 senior caps. He gained experience on the world stage at this year's World Cup.
The defender will join his new teammates for training immediately as he looks to adapt to the physical intensity of the Premier League and provide depth for the busy season ahead.
