The elimination of the Brazilian national team by Norway in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup recorded the lowest audience for Globo among all of Brazil's games in the tournament. According to preliminary Ibope data, the match held this Sunday averaged 30 points in the Greater São Paulo region, peaking at 32.

Although it was the broadcaster's worst performance in its coverage of the national team this World Cup, the index still represented Globo's highest Sunday audience in seven years. Previously, the lowest mark was the debut against Morocco with 31 points, while the highest was the victory over Scotland, which reached an average of 37 points.

The elimination also impacted SBT's viewership. The broadcaster averaged 10 points with a peak of 12 during the match, falling below the 11-point average maintained during all other Brazil matches in the competition.

In the digital space, CazéTV recorded 18.5 million simultaneous connected devices during the Brazil-Norway duel. While this result fell short of the 21-million record set during the victory over Japan, it underscored the platform's continued strength in sports broadcasting.
