Atletico Madrid suffered a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in their preseason preparation match in Seoul.
In their latest preseason preparation match, Atletico Madrid faced Manchester City in Seoul. Despite taking the lead, the Spanish side ultimately fell to a 3-1 defeat.
Atletico opened the scoring just before halftime through Jorge Dominguez, who capitalized on a corner kick rebound. However, Manchester City turned the game around in the second half with two goals in two minutes from Omar Marmoush. Rayan Ait-Nouri added a third in the final minutes to seal the win.
For midfielder Obed Vargas, the match served as an opportunity to secure a spot in Diego Simeone’s squad ahead of the 2026-27 La Liga season. Vargas started the game and played until the 63rd minute when Simeone rotated his entire lineup.
This result marks the second consecutive loss for the Madrid side in their preseason fixtures, following a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United. Atletico will now turn their focus toward the league opener.
