Grupo PRODI has identified a strategic plot in northern Zapopan as the site for the future home of Atlas.
Atlas is advancing plans for a new home stadium, with a potential site already identified. Reports suggest that Grupo PRODI is targeting a strategic plot in northern Zapopan, situated within the Periférico area, known for its proximity to significant sports, educational, and entertainment venues.
The chosen site is located near the University of Guadalajara facilities and the Auditorio Telmex. Additionally, the area is close to the Estadio Panamericano, home to the Charros de Jalisco baseball team. This location offers a rare, large-scale land availability within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, making it highly attractive for a project of this magnitude.
The current proposal does not involve utilizing the existing industrial facilities of Parque Industrial Belenes or university grounds. Instead, the club aims to integrate the new stadium into an existing hub of sports and entertainment infrastructure, potentially creating a major sporting corridor in northern Zapopan.
While the site has been identified, the project remains in the early stages of development. The formal start of construction is contingent upon securing necessary permits, administrative approvals, and finalizing the required planning processes.
