Luis Puente opened the scoring in the 44th minute after capitalizing on a goalkeeper error. Shortly after the break, Luis Calzadilla doubled the lead with a precise strike. Although Nico Ibáñez pulled one back for the visitors, Jhojan Julio restored the two-goal cushion to seal the historic result.
This win marks a significant milestone for the club, as their last victory in the top division dated back to March 23, 2014, when they defeated Toluca 2-1. The result not only breaks a long winless streak but also serves as a major morale booster for the Potros.
