Argentina's national team players have issued a collective plea for head coach Lionel Scaloni to commit his future to the country. With his current deal set to expire in December, speculation regarding his position has grown following the team's defeat in July's final.
Gathered at the Buenos Aires training base, several key squad members voiced their desire for the manager to remain in charge. Midfielder Nico Paz praised Scaloni for his developmental impact: "For me, he is one of the most important coaches. He gave me my debut, and I hope he stays."

Goalkeeper Juan Musso and defender Leonardo Balerdi also highlighted the deep respect and affection the squad holds for their coach. Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni noted that Scaloni's work has been a source of immense pride and happiness for all Argentine fans.
During his eight-year tenure, Scaloni has led the team through 104 matches, securing the 2022 World Cup and consecutive Copa America titles in 2021 and 2024. He boasts a record of 76 victories and a historic 36-match unbeaten run.
The manager is expected to address the media next Tuesday ahead of the match against Bolivia in Cordoba. The team has upcoming fixtures against Burkina Faso and Benin, with a final match at the Monumental Stadium set to mark the international departure of captain Lionel Messi.
