Andrea Pirlo shortlisted for Italy national team head coach role
The Italian Football Federation has included Andrea Pirlo on their shortlist for the national team head coach position.

Andrea Pirlo could be set for a return to top-level management with the Italy national team. According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, the 2006 World Cup winner has been added to the shortlist for the vacant head coach position.
The Italian Football Federation is assessing several candidates, acknowledging the significant difficulty of securing Pep Guardiola for the role. Alongside Pirlo, Antonio Conte and Roberto Mancini remain under consideration.
No final decision has been made regarding the future of the Azzurri. The position became vacant following the departure of Gennaro Gattuso after the team's unsuccessful qualification campaign for the 2026 World Cup. Currently, Italy U-21 coach Silvio Baldini is serving as the interim manager.
