Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has decided to reject AC Milan to remain in the English Premier League. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish manager is set to take charge of Crystal Palace.
Previously, the Italian club's management met with the 43-year-old, offering him a three-year contract with a salary of 4 million euros. However, Iraola declined the move, citing doubts about the long-term project in Italy and the challenge of adapting to a new league while building a team from scratch.
This is significant because Crystal Palace has assured the manager that he will have full control over the club's transfer policy. Reports indicate that the Eagles' transfer budget is three times larger than that of the Rossoneri, which proved to be a decisive factor in his decision.
Despite interest from Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool, Iraola chose the London side. The manager enjoyed a successful season, leading Bournemouth to the Europa League, while Crystal Palace secured their spot in the same competition after winning the Conference League, despite a 15th-place finish in the league.
