Ainsley Maitland-Niles joins Everton

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is returning to the Premier League. The 29-year-old versatile player has officially joined Everton following a two-season stint with French side Lyon.
The clubs agreed on a transfer fee of 5 million euros. Maitland-Niles has signed a long-term contract with the Liverpool-based club that will keep him at Goodison Park until the summer of 2029.
During his time in France, Maitland-Niles became a regular fixture for Lyon, making 119 appearances, scoring six goals, and providing 16 assists. This move marks his return to English football after leaving Arsenal as a free agent in 2023.
