Yukhym Konoplya agrees to join Borussia Mönchengladbach

Shakhtar Donetsk defender Yukhym Konoplya is set to continue his career in the Bundesliga. According to insider Florian Plettenberg, the player has reached a full agreement to join Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The move will be completed on a free transfer, as the defender's current contract with the Ukrainian club expires at the end of the season. The 26-year-old is currently finalizing his medical examination ahead of the official signing.

This season, Konoplya made 27 appearances for Shakhtar, contributing two goals and four assists.

The signing is seen as a significant coup for the German side, who secured the player's signature despite reported interest from Italian club AS Roma. The defender ultimately prioritized a move to Germany.
