Youri Tielemans apologises to Aston Villa fans after "bigger club" remarks

Midfielder Youri Tielemans has issued an apology to Aston Villa supporters following backlash over comments he made regarding his recent transfer. During a pre-season tour with Manchester United, the 29-year-old suggested he had moved to a "bigger club" than his former side.

The Belgian midfielder joined Old Trafford this summer after United triggered a £35m release clause in his contract. Tielemans, who spent three successful years at Villa Park, expressed his regret on social media after fans voiced their unhappiness.

Tielemans noted that he would be more careful with his public comments in the future. He previously described signing for United as the culmination of his dedication to football, but clarified that he maintains great respect for his time in Birmingham.
