RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is keeping his focus firmly on the World Cup with the Ivory Coast, refusing to be drawn into speculation about his future. Speaking after a 2-0 victory over Curacao, the forward addressed the growing noise regarding a potential move to the Premier League.
I don't know where I will play next season. I am not thinking about my future after the World Cup. I am trying to focus all my energy on the tournament and see what happens after. Yan Diomande
Liverpool have reportedly identified Diomande as their priority target to lead the team under manager Andoni Iraola. Reports suggest the Anfield hierarchy is preparing an £86 million package, though Leipzig are believed to be holding out for a fee closer to £112 million for their prized asset.
The race for the teenager is further complicated by interest from PSG. Diomande has previously admitted to having a soft spot for the French champions, noting that his father was a supporter. As the tournament continues, Leipzig remain hopeful of renewing his deal, while a bidding war between the two European giants is anticipated once the World Cup concludes.
