The timing was set primarily to provide the Gunners with additional recovery time following their midweek Champions League fixture against Napoli in Italy. The Premier League had preemptively anticipated the club's European commitments and adjusted the schedule well in advance to avoid late changes for traveling supporters.
Because this fixture was selected for live coverage by TNT Sport, it effectively replaces the traditional 12:30 lunch-time slot, which will not feature a game this Saturday. The decision helps balance the club's demanding schedule, as Arsenal are set to play three matches within a six-day span, including a trip to Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup shortly after.
