Viveros overtakes Pedro as Brasileirão top scorer

Athletico Paranaense striker Kevin Viveros has taken sole possession of the top spot in the Brasileirão scoring charts. The Colombian forward netted twice in a 3-2 away victory against Botafogo during the 24th round of the campaign.

With this performance, Viveros reached 16 goals for the season, moving past Flamengo striker Pedro, who currently sits on 15. The result was significant for the club from Curitiba, which climbed to third place in the league standings with 44 points.

Viveros attributed his form to his teammates' understanding of his speed and movement. While he noted he hasn't scored with his head yet this season, he expressed confidence in his technical ability with both feet. The victory extends Athletico's unbeaten run to nine matches.
