Vincent Kompany on Bayern Munich sales: "As a player, I would have wanted that too"

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has spoken out regarding the future of three players currently surplus to requirements at the club. Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza have been informed that their futures lie away from Munich, a decision backed by the coaching staff.

Sporting director Max Eberl recently confirmed that the trio is not included in the senior squad plans.

Addressing the situation, Kompany stated that he values the club's direct approach. "I think it is positive that the club communicate clearly with the players. As a former player, I would have wanted that too. The club have made a clear statement, so we are all on the same page," the manager said.

Despite the clear stance, Kompany emphasized that the players must still be treated with respect. While Palhinha and Boey are currently involved in the club's Asia tour and Zaragoza is recovering from knee inflammation, the manager refused to rule out any late surprises before the window closes, though the current position remains firm.

Max Eberl noted that the transfer market is beginning to show activity. While no deals are finalized, the club expects more concrete interest to emerge in August as other teams assess their own squad needs following European qualification stages or injury concerns.
