Vélez vs. San Lorenzo: Clausura Tournament Preview
Vélez, already qualified for the knockout stages, hosts San Lorenzo as they fight for a top-eight spot.
Vélez hosts San Lorenzo at the Estadio José Amalfitani for matchday 15 of the 2026 Clausura Tournament. The hosts have already secured their place in the round of 16 following a dominant 5-0 win over Central Córdoba, while the visitors need all three points to keep their knockout hopes alive.
Vélez enters the match with momentum, led by top scorer Ronaldo Martínez, who has notched 10 goals this season. Despite the team's success, manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto has cast doubt on his future, noting his contract expires in December and that he will discuss his next steps with the club's leadership soon.
San Lorenzo, managed by Rubén Darío Insua, sits ninth in the standings, just one point behind Independiente. After a goalless draw with Newell's, the team must secure a victory to force their way into the top eight and extend their tournament run.
Probable Lineups:
Vélez: Marchiori, García, Silvero, Magallán, Gómez, Baeza, Robertone, Pellegrini, Lanzini, Policella, Martínez.
San Lorenzo: Devecchi, Corujo, Arboleda, Amor, Tripichio, Gulli, Río or Arias, Rodríguez Pagano, Farías, Cuello, Auzmendi.
The match kicks off at 19:15 local time. Facundo Tello will referee the contest, with coverage available on TNT Sports.
