Union Saint-Gilloise have claimed the Belgian Super Cup title after a dramatic victory over Club Brugge. The match ended 1-1 in regular time, forcing the outcome to be decided by a penalty shootout.

The scoring opened early in the second half when Nicolo Tresoldi found the back of the net in the 49th minute to put Club Brugge in front. However, Union responded in the 77th minute with a clinical finish from Kevin Mac Allister to level the score.

In the ensuing penalty shootout, the Brussels side held their nerve to win 5-4.

This victory marks the second time Union Saint-Gilloise have lifted the Belgian Super Cup. In contrast, Club Brugge remains the competition's record holder with 19 titles.
