Toluca's interest in Chino Huerta: Are there formal negotiations?

Rumors regarding a potential move for Anderlecht midfielder César 'Chino' Huerta to Toluca have been dismissed as baseless.

Recent rumors in the Liga MX market suggested that Toluca was interested in acquiring Anderlecht midfielder César 'Chino' Huerta. It was claimed that the club was prepared to buy his contract as he prepares for the upcoming World Cup.

However, journalist Carlos Ponce de León has clarified that these reports are without merit. «I can confirm that there are no negotiations from Toluca to acquire the services of César Huerta. It is purely preseason smoke, and quite dense at that,» he wrote.

Huerta is currently focused on his responsibilities with the Mexican national team. After missing significant time due to a pubalgia injury, he made a return to the pitch in a friendly against Australia in late May. His contract with the Belgian side runs until June 2029, and his market value is currently estimated at 3.5 million euros.
