Thiago Alcantara will depart the Barcelona coaching staff at the conclusion of the current season. The news was confirmed following reports from Fabrizio Romano.
The 35-year-old joined Hansi Flick's team at the start of the 2025/26 season, where he was responsible for tactical preparation and training organization. Last December, Thiago reportedly received an offer to become the head coach of Levante, but he ultimately chose to remain with the Catalan club.
This departure necessitates a search for a new staff member to support the head coach's setup for the upcoming campaign. The decision to leave was reportedly made several months ago.
Thiago is a product of the Barcelona youth academy and played for the first team between 2009 and 2013. Following his retirement from professional football in 2024, the former Bayern Munich and Liverpool midfielder transitioned into a coaching role.
