Scottish football's transfer market is heating up as clubs look to finalize their squads. Rangers are currently in talks with Brentford regarding a potential loan return for 20-year-old left-back Jayden Meghoma. The Ibrox side also maintains interest in right-backs Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa and Hugo Siquet of Club Brugge, though the Belgian club has currently rejected advances for the latter.
On the injury front, Rangers left-back Tuur Rommens is set for a few weeks on the sidelines with a groin strain. Furthermore, the club is still negotiating with Sheffield United for 20-year-old striker Ryan One after an initial loan bid was turned down.
Celtic are making significant moves of their own, with winger Haissem Hassan completing a medical in London ahead of a £9m switch from Real Oviedo. Meanwhile, Everton's pursuit of Celtic right-back Alastair Johnston has stalled due to a £5m gap in valuation.
Elsewhere, Celtic and Ipswich Town have emerged as interested parties for Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope. In the international management scene, Roberto Martinez is reportedly in discussions to lead the Netherlands, effectively ruling him out of the conversation for the Scotland national team job.
