Rio Ngumoha is set to commit his future to Liverpool in the coming days. According to The Times, the 17-year-old winger has already agreed on the terms of a new five-year contract.
Ngumoha turns 18 on August 29, which will grant him the legal status to sign a professional long-term deal. An official announcement from the club is expected before the end of the month.
The player is currently focused on his preparations for the upcoming season. It is anticipated that in the 2026/27 campaign, he will be handed significantly more opportunities within the first-team setup.
Specifically, the coaching staff views the youngster as a potential option on the right wing, a position that may require reinforcement following the departure of Mo Salah. Ngumoha joined Liverpool's youth setup in 2024 after leaving Chelsea's academy. During the 2025/26 season, the winger made 29 appearances across all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist.
