Negotiations between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig for the transfer of Yan Diomande have entered the final stages. Reports suggest that Los Blancos are prepared to pay between €130 million and €140 million for the 19-year-old. This fee would make it the second-most expensive transfer in Bundesliga history, trailing only Ousmane Dembele's move to Barcelona for €148 million.

While journalist Ben Jacobs has reported a verbal agreement on terms, official confirmation is pending board approval in Madrid. Earlier, RB Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer urged caution, dismissing premature claims that the deal was already finalized.

The transfer faces potential complications due to an ongoing agency dispute. Both Maxidel Management and Roc Nation currently claim to represent the player's interests, leading to concerns that FIFA may launch an investigation into the legality of the move if it proceeds.

Diomande moved to Leipzig in the summer of 2025 for €20 million and enjoyed a breakthrough season, recording 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances. Despite interest from clubs including Liverpool, PSG, and Bayern Munich, Real Madrid appear to have secured the winger's services.
