Real Madrid are continuing their search for a defensive midfielder after their pursuit of Manchester City star Rodri stalled, largely due to competition from Barcelona. The Spanish giants are now looking at alternative options to bolster their engine room.
A name that has recently emerged on Madrid's scouting list is Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli. The 28-year-old midfielder was a pivotal figure for the Turin side last season, making 50 appearances across all competitions while contributing three goals and two assists.
Although Locatelli signed a contract extension with the Bianconeri keeping him at the club until 2030, the interest from a powerhouse like Real Madrid could potentially influence the player's future. While Juventus are currently reluctant to part ways with their leader, Real Madrid remain in the early stages of evaluating the feasibility of a move.
