Real Betis closing in on €20m move for Irish star Troy Parrott
The Spanish club is nearing a deal for the 24-year-old forward following his prolific season in the Netherlands.

Spanish side Real Betis are in advanced negotiations to sign 24-year-old AZ Alkmaar and Republic of Ireland forward Troy Parrott. The deal is expected to be worth €20 million (£17.1 million).
Parrott, formerly of Tottenham, has enjoyed a highly productive spell in the Netherlands. Despite a knee ligament injury early in the campaign, he finished with 16 goals in 28 league matches. He has also established himself as a talisman for Ireland, notably helping the national team reach the World Cup playoffs with crucial goals against Portugal and Hungary.
This move is significant for the Seville-based club, which secured a direct spot in the Champions League after finishing fifth in La Liga for the 2025/26 season. Acquiring Parrott is viewed as a vital step to bolster their offensive options for elite European competition.
Both parties are reportedly close to finalizing the agreement. Once completed, the forward is expected to join the squad ahead of their new campaign, while continuing his international development under manager Heimir Hallgrímsson.
