PSV Eindhoven are considering a move for RB Leipzig defender Lutsharel Geertruida, according to reports from Eindhovens Dagblad. The Dutch side is reportedly exploring options to strengthen both their right-back and central defensive positions.
However, it is currently uncertain if the reigning Dutch champions will be able to conclude a deal with the Bundesliga club. Leipzig are said to be demanding a substantial fee for the 21-cap Netherlands international, with figures around €20 million being mentioned. This valuation currently appears to exceed PSV's budget.
A loan move has been suggested as a possible solution, though the feasibility of such an arrangement remains unclear. Geertruida, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, still has three years remaining on his contract with the German side.
The defender is currently preparing for the upcoming Bundesliga season with Leipzig. Director of football Earnest Stewart has identified Geertruida as a candidate, but the financial demands set by the German club remain the primary stumbling block in negotiations.
