Dynamo Kyiv successfully concluded another stage of their summer pre-season preparations with a 2-0 victory over Austrian side LASK in their fifth friendly match of the summer.
The first half was a balanced affair, but the Ukrainian team showed more threat in the final third. The deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute when Matviy Ponomarenko connected with a Mykola Shaparenko pass to beat the goalkeeper with a clinical first-time finish.
After the interval, LASK increased their pressure in search of an equalizer, but the Dynamo defense held firm. Toward the end of the match, Ponomarenko sealed his brace by converting a cross from Nazar Voloshyn, confirming the 2-0 win.
This result provides a positive boost for the squad ahead of the upcoming campaign. Igor Kostyuk's team is now turning its attention to the start of the competitive season, with a UEFA Europa League qualification match against Universitatea Cluj scheduled for July 9.
