Palmeiras have reached an agreement to loan 21-year-old goalkeeper Aranha to Portuguese club Moreirense. The deal is set to run for one year, until mid-2027, with the player expected to travel to Europe next week.
This move is a strategic decision by the club's board and coaching staff. With Carlos Miguel currently serving as the undisputed starter and Marcelo Lomba acting as the primary backup, Aranha requires consistent playing time that is not currently available at the Brazilian club.
The return of goalkeeper Kaique from his own loan spell in Portugal has paved the way for this transition, as Kaique is slated to become the third-choice goalkeeper for Abel Ferreira's squad this semester. The club views loan spells in European leagues as an essential pathway for their young prospects to gain experience before returning to the first team.
Aranha joined Palmeiras in 2022 after impressive performances in the U-17 Copa do Brasil and quickly established himself in the youth ranks, securing both the U-17 Brazilian Championship and two Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior titles during his development.
