Pachuca officially announces unexpected exit of Esteban Solari
Argentine coach Esteban Solari leaves his position at Pachuca after the club failed to reach an agreement for his continuity.
Pachuca has officially confirmed the unexpected departure of Esteban Solari as head coach. The club expressed regret that negotiations for his continuity did not yield an agreement, despite their initial intention to establish a long-term project under his leadership.
"After weeks of negotiations, we regret that we could not reach an agreement to guarantee his continuity. We always envisioned Esteban as a coach for a long-term project, providing solidity and stability to all programs within the institution," the club stated in an official announcement.
Solari arrived at the club in late 2025 as a temporary measure following the dismissal of Jaime Lozano, but he quickly became a key figure. During the 2026 Clausura season, he led the team to a fourth-place finish in the regular season and a semi-final appearance, where they were eliminated by Pumas on tie-breaking rules after a competitive series.
