Olympiacos striker Ayoub El Kaabi has successfully undergone surgery following a severe leg injury. The Moroccan international suffered a fracture to both his tibia and fibula in his left leg shortly before halftime during the league match against Volos.
The procedure was performed in Athens by the club's chief doctor, Christos Theos, and his medical team at the B. Valeriou clinic. According to the club's official statement, the surgery was completed smoothly.
While the operation was a success, the road to recovery will be lengthy. It is estimated that El Kaabi will be sidelined for between 6 and 7 months. The exact timeline for his return depends heavily on how his body responds to the rehabilitation process, which officially began today.
The loss of their leading striker is a significant blow for the Greek side. The club has emphasized that the current priority is a gradual and safe rehabilitation to ensure the player's full return to competitive action.
