Ahead of the 2026 World Cup final, New York City hosted a series of high-profile events. The Rockefeller Center was transformed into a festive arena for the FIFA Legends Cup, a tournament featuring football icons and special guests, including tennis superstar Novak Djokovic.
The Serbian athlete showcased his football skills alongside legends such as Cafu, Kaka, and Alessandro Del Piero. Djokovic challenged defensive stalwarts like Javier Zanetti, Cambiasso, Carles Puyol, and John Terry, while attempting to score against legendary goalkeepers like Iker Casillas and Higuita, or even against Vozinha and Mascherano, who were playing in goal.
Beyond the exhibition match, Djokovic hosted a dynamic session featuring the two World Cup finalists. He engaged in conversation with team captains Lionel Messi and Rodri, as well as head coaches Lionel Scaloni and Luis de La Fuente, and goalkeeper Emi Martinez, all gathered alongside the official tournament trophy. The event also featured appearances by American sports stars Kevin Durant and Tom Brady.
The final match between Spain and Argentina is set to take place this Sunday at MetLife Stadium. These events served as the final buildup for local fans and global celebrities alike before the concluding match of the tournament.
