Necaxa looks ahead to Clausura 2027 by signing goalkeeper Jean Fernandes
Necaxa has secured their first signing for the 2027 Clausura season, with Brazilian goalkeeper Jean Fernandes set to join as a free agent.

With the Apertura 2026 season effectively written off as Necaxa sits in the penultimate spot of the Liga MX table, the club has already shifted its focus to reinforcing the squad for the Clausura 2027 tournament.
According to reports, the club has secured Brazilian goalkeeper Jean Fernandes as its first major reinforcement. The player is expected to join the Rayos as a free agent once his contract with Colombian side America de Cali expires.
Transfer specialist Cesar Luis Merlo indicated that the agreement covers a three-year deal with an option for an additional season. Although Cerro Porteno, the goalkeeper's former club, reportedly attempted to bring him back to Paraguay, the Mexican club successfully secured the deal with a superior offer.
During his time with America de Cali in 2026, Fernandes played 24 matches across all competitions, conceding 18 goals and keeping nine clean sheets. While the move is widely reported, neither of the involved clubs nor the player has issued an official confirmation at this time.
