Napoli face a defensive setback ahead of the new campaign. Defender Luca Marianucci has been ruled out for approximately two months after picking up an injury in a friendly match against Celta Vigo.
The club's medical staff confirmed that the player suffered a deep cut to his left knee, which also resulted in ligament damage. He is expected to remain out of action until at least October.
This recovery timeline rules Marianucci out for the opening weeks of the Serie A season, starting August 22, as well as the initial group stage matches of the Champions League in September. He is expected to return to contention following the October international break.
