Mourinho eyes Nico Schlotterbeck for Real Madrid move

Jose Mourinho, who has been heavily linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, is considering the signing of Borussia Dortmund central defender Nico Schlotterbeck. According to reports, the Portuguese manager used a recent trip to Germany to meet with the player's representatives to discuss the prospect of a move to the Spanish club.

Mourinho attended the German Cup final between Bayern Munich and Stuttgart, taking the opportunity to initiate talks regarding defensive reinforcements. Schlotterbeck joined Dortmund in 2022 and is currently tied to a long-term contract running until the summer of 2031.

The 26-year-old defender has enjoyed a productive 2025/26 campaign, recording five goals and two assists across 37 appearances in all competitions. His current market value is estimated to be approximately 55 million euros.
