In the fourth round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Kyiv's Obolon played out a goalless draw at home against Kolos. After the match, midfielder Ihor Medynskyi shared his thoughts on the team's performance.
The player noted that the match was mentally taxing due to external factors: "The day was really long because of air raid alerts. We spent a lot of time in shelters, so it was difficult to get back into the game." Despite the conditions, Medynskyi believes the team created enough opportunities to compete for a win, though he admits they still face significant challenges.
One shot on target is not enough to win matches. We are working on this. But we are not playing against a weak team. Throughout their time in the top league, Kolos has shown how well they defend. Ihor Medynskyi
Kyiv's Obolon has yet to score a goal this season. According to Medynskyi, the coaching staff is focusing heavily on the final third and finishing. He explained that the low number of dangerous moments was due to both the organized defensive play of Kolos and the high energy Obolon must invest in their own defensive structure, which often complicates their transition to counter-attacks.
