Maximilian Ibrahimovic, the eldest son of legendary Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has officially completed a permanent transfer from AC Milan to Dutch Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar. The 19-year-old winger, who had been part of the Rossoneri's youth setup, is now set to continue his development in the Netherlands.
This move marks a return to Dutch football for the youngster, who previously spent time on loan with Ajax—the club where his father first achieved global stardom. His tenure in Amsterdam, however, was hampered by persistent injuries, limiting him to just four appearances for the reserve side, Jong Ajax.
In an official statement, AZ Alkmaar confirmed that the player is currently recovering from a minor injury. Once fit, he will join the club's development squad, Jong AZ, with the Dutch side expressing their belief that he can become a valuable asset for the future.
Maximilian started his journey at the AC Milan academy in 2022 and made his professional debut in January 2025 with Milan Futuro in Serie C. He now looks to apply the lessons learned from his time in Italy and the Netherlands to establish himself as a player in his own right.
