Mario Vuskovic returns to Hamburg training after doping ban
Around 7,000 fans gathered at the Volksparkstadion to welcome Mario Vuskovic back to training following his four-year doping suspension.

Emotional scenes unfolded at the Volksparkstadion as Mario Vuskovic stepped back onto the pitch for the first time following a nearly four-year absence due to a doping ban. The club moved the training session to the main stadium to accommodate the 7,000 fans who gathered to show their support.
Former manager Tim Walter and ex-teammates Sebastian Schonlau and Jonas Meffert watched from the stands to offer their backing. Left-back Miro Muheim, one of the few remaining players from Vuskovic's pre-suspension era, reflected on the moment: "It was a very special moment to have Mario back with us. We always believed in his innocence. Mario is incredibly strong in character, a special person."
The club hierarchy expressed their continued faith in the defender, with board member Eric Huwer noting the resilience shown by the Vuskovic family. While Vuskovic is now working with physical trainer Josko Vlasic to rebuild his match fitness, strict terms of his suspension remain in place.
The defender is prohibited from featuring in competitive matches until the Nordderby against Werder Bremen on November 22. Furthermore, he remains barred from media interviews, signing autographs, or participating in club marketing campaigns until his suspension officially expires.
