After seeing Mateus Fernandes complete an £85 million move to Tottenham, Manchester United are reassessing their midfield recruitment strategy. The club is looking to address ongoing depth issues in the center of the pitch.
Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid and Bournemouth's Alex Scott remain at the top of the shortlist. While the situation involving Tchouameni is impacted by Madrid's own squad restructuring, Bournemouth are working hard to retain Scott, signaling that they have no current intention to sell their asset.
The club has also compiled a diverse list of alternatives. Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi has emerged as a serious option following his impressive performances at the World Cup, while Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha and Fulham's Sander Berge are also being tracked.
Beyond midfield reinforcements, United remain focused on securing Crysencio Summerville for the left wing. Exploratory talks with West Ham are underway, though competition from other Premier League clubs remains high. The potential deal is tied to the possible sale of Marcus Rashford, whose future remains under internal review.
