Mahmoud Hassan 'Trezeguet' suffers injury in Saudi Pro League match

Al-Riyadh forward Mahmoud Hassan, widely known as 'Trezeguet', was forced off early during his side's Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Khaleej on Monday. The Egyptian international left the pitch in visible distress, marking a concerning moment for both his club and national team staff.
This latest setback follows a recent hamstring issue that sidelined Trezeguet for Al-Riyadh's previous outing. The new injury occurred during the opening stages of the match, which ultimately ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
Trezeguet is scheduled to undergo medical examinations and X-rays in the coming hours to determine the extent of the damage and his expected recovery timeline. The timing is particularly problematic, as the winger was expected to be called up for Egypt's upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and South Sudan on 25 and 29 September.
In his six appearances for Al-Riyadh this season across all competitions, the 29-year-old has recorded one goal and two assists. Following the result, Al-Riyadh sits in twelfth place with five points, while Al-Khaleej holds thirteenth place with four points.
