Lucas Digne returns to PSG in £8.5m deal from Aston Villa

France international Lucas Digne has officially completed his move from Aston Villa to Paris St-Germain. The 33-year-old left-back has signed a three-year deal at the Parc des Princes, with PSG triggering an £8.5m release clause in his contract.

This move marks a return to the French capital for Digne, who spent three years at the club at the start of his career before joining Barcelona in 2016. He expressed his pride in rejoining the European champions after spending the last eight years in England.

Digne is set to provide competition for first-choice left-back Nuno Mendes. The Frenchman joins a PSG squad that has secured back-to-back Champions League titles. Last season, Digne was part of the Aston Villa squad that claimed the Europa League, marking the club's first major silverware since 1996.

His departure follows a busy transfer window for Aston Villa, which has already seen the exits of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea and Youri Tielemans to Manchester United.
