Midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is set to continue his career with AS Roma. Despite officially entering free agency for the last two weeks following the expiration of his previous deal, the two parties have reached an agreement on a new contract.
Throughout the second half of last season, the club captain attracted interest from several Italian giants, including Inter Milan, Juventus, and Napoli. However, the player turned down these approaches to focus on finalizing a deal with his current club.
The new agreement runs until 2028 with an option for an additional season. The contract includes an annual salary of 2.5 million euros plus bonuses. Last season, the 30-year-old made 33 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
