Following the collapse of their pursuit for Yankuba Minteh, Liverpool have shifted their focus to secure reinforcements before the transfer window closes. The Anfield club have submitted a £50 million bid to Crystal Palace for winger Ismaila Sarr.
Liverpool opted to walk away from the Minteh deal after two failed bids that fell well short of Brighton's £70m valuation. With the deadline approaching this Monday, manager Andoni Iraola is pushing for immediate arrivals to address the squad's lack of depth.
Some deals you have to wait until the end. But the end is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1, because it is true that we are still quite thin. Andoni Iraola
Sarr, who recorded 21 goals and two assists in 45 appearances last season while winning the UEFA Europa Conference League, is reportedly keen on the move. However, the Merseyside club faces stiff competition, with Al-Hilal monitoring the situation and Galatasaray currently in advanced talks to sign the Senegal international.
In addition to the Sarr pursuit, Liverpool remain in ongoing discussions with PSG regarding a potential transfer for Bradley Barcola, as the club looks to urgently bolster their attacking options following a difficult period of player departures.
