Lille president Olivier Letang boycotts refereeing leadership
Following a 20,000 euro fine, Lille president Olivier Letang has decided to stop participating in all meetings with refereeing officials.

Lille president Olivier Letang has announced his decision to cease all cooperation with the leadership of the French refereeing department. This move comes as a direct response to a 20,000 euro fine imposed by the LFP disciplinary committee following Letang's repeated criticism of officials after the match against PSG (2-2).
In a letter to the heads of the LFP and the French Football Federation, Letang confirmed he would no longer attend any meetings involving the refereeing management. He argued that his previous efforts to provide constructive feedback and proposals for improving the game were ignored or lacked transparent debate.
"Exchanges take place without real contradictory debate and lack transparency and effectiveness, which exposes me personally and gives me the feeling that we are wasting our time," said Olivier Letang.
The tension escalated after Letang sent multiple messages to the national director of refereeing, Anthony Gautier, which the disciplinary body deemed an ethical violation. Letang, however, maintains that his complaints regarding on-pitch decisions remain unaddressed, and he has compared the French handling of these matters unfavorably to the transparency shown in the Premier League.
