Lamine Yamal reveals Marcus Rashford's steep learning curve in El Clasico

Lamine Yamal has shared insights into Marcus Rashford's loan spell at Barcelona, highlighting the significant adjustment the English forward faced when introduced to the intensity of El Clasico against Real Madrid.

Following a 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu early in his tenure, Yamal admitted that his teammate appeared unfamiliar with the unique pressures of the fixture. "I saw him play and thought, 'he still doesn’t know what a Clasico is'," Yamal told Movistar.

Despite his contributions to a trophy-laden season, Barcelona opted not to exercise their €30 million permanent transfer option. Sporting director Deco instead prioritized the signing of Anthony Gordon for €70m, seeking a player whose profile better suited the high-pressing system implemented by manager Hansi Flick.

Rashford has since returned to Manchester United, where he is working under Michael Carrick. The forward is currently fighting for consistency and is yet to open his goal-scoring account since his return to Old Trafford.
