The summer of 2026 has been a career-defining period for Lamine Yamal, who has solidified his status as one of football's most influential young talents. Just days after celebrating his 19th birthday on July 13, the winger lifted the World Cup trophy with Spain, adding to his Euro 2024 success from two years prior.
Following his international commitments, Yamal enjoyed a well-earned break, spending much of his holiday in Colombia. Upon his return to Catalonia, he hosted an intimate 19th birthday celebration at the Mas de Sant Llei country house, surrounded by close friends and teammates.
The forward is set to report for duty at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this Wednesday, marking the start of his preparations for the domestic campaign under Hansi Flick. Yamal is among the final group of international players returning to training following their extended leave after the World Cup final against Argentina.
Yamal will be joined in this final wave of returnees by fellow Spanish internationals Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Ferran Torres. Meanwhile, several teammates, including Gavi and Eric Garcia, opted to cut their vacations short to integrate into the squad earlier.
Amid his return, Yamal also took to social media to share a message of solidarity with Colombia, following a devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck the country shortly after his visit. The gesture highlighted the winger's strong connection to the nation that hosted his summer break.
