Kylian Mbappé continues to cement his legacy with the France national team. During the 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Morocco, the forward scored and provided an assist, reaching a historic milestone: he is the first player to surpass 100 direct goal contributions for his country.
Mbappé now boasts 64 goals and 37 assists for the national team. Already the all-time leading scorer, he is also the top provider for the side managed by Didier Deschamps. In the current World Cup, he remains the most decisive player with 11 goal contributions, consisting of eight goals and three assists.
Despite his individual success, Mbappé remains focused on collective glory. Following the win over Morocco, he stressed that the potential of this generation must be verified through major tournament titles.
The forward caused a brief scare after receiving treatment for his right foot late in the match, but reports indicate he is expected to be fit for the semifinal. Additionally, France anticipates the return of midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni. Having missed the quarterfinal due to an adductor issue, the Real Madrid player is expected to rejoin the starting lineup for the crucial clash.
