Kalvin Phillips returns to Sheffield United on loan
The 30-year-old Manchester City midfielder will spend the 2026/27 season at the Championship club.

Kalvin Phillips will play for Sheffield United once again. Manchester City has confirmed that the 30-year-old midfielder has officially joined the Championship club on a loan deal running until the end of the 2026/27 season.
This move marks a return to Yorkshire for the English midfielder. Phillips previously joined the team in February 2026, but his time there was cut short after he made just three appearances before suffering a knee injury that ended his campaign prematurely.
This loan represents another attempt by the player to find consistent playing time after struggling to establish himself at Manchester City. Since moving to the Citizens in 2022, the former Leeds youth product has made 32 appearances, scoring one goal in the Champions League. Phillips has also had loan spells at West Ham and Ipswich during his time under contract with City.
At Sheffield United, the midfielder will now look to regain his fitness and make a meaningful impact during the 2026/27 season.
