Julian Alvarez has missed two consecutive days of training at Atletico Madrid. This development follows internal communication from the Spanish club informing the 26-year-old that they will not engage in negotiations with Barcelona regarding his departure.

Atletico has maintained a firm stance, issuing two public statements within 24 hours to confirm that there is zero chance of selling the player to the Catalan club. The board of directors has expressed unanimous support for this decision, despite Alvarez's clear preference for a move to Camp Nou.

However, the door remains open for a move to Arsenal. Atletico director Mateu Alemany visited London last week to hold direct talks with the Premier League side, setting a valuation of 150 million Euros. While Mikel Arteta is eager to secure the striker, the transfer remains stalled by the player's steadfast desire to join Barcelona.

Discussions between Atletico and Arsenal over a club-to-club agreement for Alvarez have been positive. If Alvarez gives the green light to proceed, a deal should move quickly.
