Jose Mourinho returns as Real Madrid manager

Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as the new manager of Real Madrid, taking over from head coach Alvaro Arbeloa. The Portuguese manager, who previously led the Spanish giants between 2010 and 2013, makes his return to the Bernabeu following his recent spell at Benfica.

Mourinho's previous tenure in Madrid remains one of his most successful, boasting a 76.3% win rate. During the 2011-12 season, he guided the club to a record-breaking 100 points in a single La Liga campaign—a milestone that still stands today. His first stint also delivered a La Liga title and a Copa del Rey trophy.

The manager also enjoyed significant success at Porto between 2002 and 2004, achieving a 75.9% win rate alongside two league titles and a Champions League victory. His recent time at Benfica and his first term at Chelsea are also highlighted among his most effective periods regarding points per game.
